Borsani-Style Giltwood Mirror

We recreated this Borsani-style mirror in a custom size for a client's entryway, inspired by an Italian design from the 1950s. The original elliptical mirror features a delicately carved wood frame with subtle curves and sculptural detailing. Working from photographs of the original, we developed technical drawings and a 3D model to guide the CNC carving process. A prototype was produced to refine the frame’s curvature, carved ridges, and inner lip before final fabrication. Once the carving was complete, a specialist gilding artist applied traditional 24-karat gold leaf to achieve the mirror’s elegant finish.
